When Matt graduated from UC Berkeley his Grandfather gave him a book about investing in real estate and said, “I wish someone had told me the importance of real estate investment when I was your age. This book should give you a leg up on everybody else.” That was my first clue that he would be involved in real estate. He also looked at how my parents purchased and held rental properties for the long-term. Matt remembers as a kid going with his Dad to play while he painted vacant rentals and got them ready to be rented again. You can say investing in real estate is in my blood.
Matt is a diehard real estate investor. He can talk about return on equity, cash on cash return, vacancy rates, capitalization rates, etc. until he is blue in the face. But ask him about Cape Cod architecture and he will have to tell you he's not your person (Jonna is!). Matt wants to find you an investment property that fits your needs. Another person might be looking to build long-term equity or cash flow growth, and yet another person might want to buy a property to fix up and sell for a profit. He wants to help you invest your hard earned capital wisely, and rental property is a great diversification tool for wealth accumulation. He's been investing in real estate since 1998, and he thinks like an investor first and foremost.
