About Matthew

I have been a realtor for six years in the state of Arizona. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University and a Post Baccalaureate in Secondary Education from Arizona State University. I have also been a high school teacher of 18 years in the Peoria Unified School District. I currently serve as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the city of Surprise and have served on the Commission since 2007.

I currently live in Surprise with my two sons and my fabulous wife of 18 years. We have lived in Surprise for nearly 12 years. Even though I am originally from Milwaukee, WI, I have lived most of my life in the Phoenix area. I enjoy traveling, cooking and playing golf. I am a huge sports fan and enjoy watching professional football, baseball and hockey. We are very fortunate to have hometown teams in each sport.

I have spent nearly 30 years living and working in the West Valley and am very familiar with the cities and school districts in this part of the Phoenix area. My involvement as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner has not only deepened my knowledge of Surprise, but also the other surrounding cities such as Glendale and Peoria.
