With over ten years of experience at the CEO level, including a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company and with up to 2,300 staff under his direction, Matthew has well-developed skills in marketing, negotiation, and the ability to manage the moving parts of any real estate deal. As a company leader, he understands the need to pay attention to detail, utilizing a team of professionals to ensure the desired outcome. He has bought and sold several houses, investment properties, factories, and whole companies in deals of up to $70,000,000.
A New Zealander, Matthew was an ex-pat for much of his business career and has lived in 7 countries. As his family moved 11 times with him from Florida, Mexico, Moscow, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, and Auckland, among others, Matthew appreciates the nuances of finding new schools, deciding what areas to live in, dealing with relocation companies, and adjusting to new towns and cultures.
Matthew's passion for real estate matches a passion for natural, good food (growing, preparing, and eating) and travel with 69 countries visited. He also has a flair for design, house renovations, and DIY projects, such as building a pizza oven. Matthew's wife, Lisa, is the Executive Director of New Canaan Library, and his two children are studying at university, his son having graduated from New Canaan High School in 2014.
