Maureen grew up in a suburb near Cleveland, Ohio, and she moved to Cincinnati to attend Xavier University where she earned a degree in Education. After teaching in Cincinnati public schools for nine years, she earned a graduate degree from the University of Cincinnati in educational administration, and she was an elementary school principal at two of Cincinnati's premier Montessori schools.
