She is a Seattle Native with a large extended family here. Her Grandparents owned Van’s Nursery where I-5 is located at Northgate. While her uncle served in the State Senate when she was a child, they would go door to door asking for votes. This probably helped fuel a lifetime of interest in politics and community service.
