Megan Thornton was born in Hays, KS, but has lived in Manhattan, KS most of her life. She attended Manhattan High School, followed by Kansas State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and graduate degree in Special Education.
After college, Megan taught Special Education at Fort Riley for five years. This opportunity gave her direct experience and insight into military life and the community within Fort Riley and Junction City. She then left her passion of teaching to pursue another calling – photography. Megan founded Demiurge Photography and has been in business since 2013 focusing on weddings, families, and real estate photography in the Manhattan area.
Megan’s husband, Tyler, builds residential homes with the family-owned business, Thornton Construction. As Real Estate has become a growing part of Megan’s life, and with a natural talent for entrepreneurship, she began leaning into the Real Estate space. Realizing she thrives in this momentum — and with years of personal experience from buying and selling properties — she decided it was time for a professional shift.
Throughout her career and personal experiences, Megan has extensive experience working with families, builders, vendors, and developers. She looks forward to working with clients and helping them find or build their dream home!
Outside of working for her clients, Megan is raising two young boys on their farm in Wamego, KS. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing cards, and visiting National Parks. As a family, they enjoy everything outdoors, family traditions, and taking care of their animals.
