Melanie Atkinson

Growing up in Ft. Myers, FL, with parents who owned an Appliance & Air Conditioning company, Melanie learned the hard work it takes to run a business and to appreciate the inner workings of a house. A self-proclaimed "house geek," nothing makes Melanie happier than to represent a home with quality construction that has been lovingly maintained.

Melanie earned a Psychology Degree from the University of Florida in 1998, then continued her education at the University of Illinois, earning a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations. She happily moved to Tampa in December 1999 and is a passionate advocate for her new hometown.

Joining together her love of people and houses, real estate was the natural progression of Melanie’s professional life. She has been a full time Realtor for over 10 years and specializes in both the Westchase area and South Tampa. Having lived in both Westchase and South Tampa, Melanie has firsthand knowledge of both areas and is happy to share her personal experiences with her clients.

When working with Buyers, Melanie’s main objective is to make sure the buyers feel like they have all the time and information they need to make the right decision for their needs. She encourages buyers to do their homework and not to rush into buying until they feel comfortable in their decision. When working with Sellers, Melanie prides herself on making sure that the home is perfectly prepped by Day 1 of the listing. By gently giving honest feedback, she does whatever she can to help the seller prepare the house and makes sure that no detail is overlooked when the house hits the market.

Melanie strives to make the homebuying/selling experience as stress-free as possible for her clients. With open and honest communication throughout the process, Melanie’s clients know that she is looking out for their best interests.
