Melanie is a licensed REALTOR specializing in military moves and corporate relocations. Melanie considers herself a Goldsboro native though she was born in Sumter, South Carolina and raised all over the country! Growing up, her father was active-duty Air Force, and they moved houses just about every 3 to 5 years. But they settled in Goldsboro in the mid 1970's and finally began to call this place their home and this is where she has lived most of her life and where they raised their children. She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and later worked toward a Marketing Degree at Wayne Community College. A little later in life, she met and married an Air Force fighter pilot, Bruce Gates, and continued to travel the world with him and their two beautiful children. He retired from active duty in 2004 while stationed here at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and life since then has been nothing short of incredible!

Melanie has always been involved in multiple extra-curricular activities through her church and school. When she is not volunteering with various youth groups and organizations, there is nothing she likes better than spending time with her family, traveling in their 5th wheel camper, enjoying one of North Carolina's many fishing piers or ocean surf while waiting for the big one to bite!
