It’s a challenge to write a review that fully captures just how exceptional our experience with Melanie Gunn was. From the start, she impressed us with her knowledge, positive attitude and patience. We were moving from out of state and she patiently showed us an extensive amount of rentals for us to choose from, helped us navigate the rental requirements, contracts, etc.

When we decided we wanted to buy, we didn’t think twice about who to work with. Her advice was invaluable, and it was clear she truly had our best interests at heart. She has an extensive network of trusted professionals—contractors, cleaning crew… you name it—which made it easy to coordinate for inspections and repairs.

But what really makes Melanie stand out is the type of person she is: genuinely kind, incredibly patient, and always looking out for her clients. She went way above and beyond for us, and you could tell she was truly happy to help. No matter what came up, she always had a smile on her face and brought such a positive, uplifting energy. She was an absolute joy to be around, and by the end of the process, she felt more like a good friend than just our realtor.

She was always available, easy to reach, and even after the sale was finalized she continued to check in, sending us helpful tips on increasing energy efficiency and connecting us with local resources. She didn’t just help us find a home—she made sure we felt comfortable and supported every step of the way.

Melanie is one of those rare breed human beings: genuinely nice, smart as whip, extremely competent, easy to work with and nice to be around. So if you’re looking for a realtor who is not only an expert in her field but also a genuinely wonderful human being, look no further—Melanie is the absolute best. We feel so fortunate to have worked with her!

Melanie was the consummate Realtor who helped me both buy and sell a home.

I purchased a home from across the country and she was there supporting the process all along the way. Any time there was a home I was interested in (dozen+), she'd be quick to get an appointment and video chat throughout it to help pick the best option. When it came to closing, she was an advocate and helped secure some additional credits I wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

After purchasing the home, it turned out it wasn't the right fit. Melanie talked through options to rent or sell it and ultimately helped sell it! When we had the right buyer, Melanie streamlined the process and got us to closing without a hiccup. Grateful for all the support, guidance, and impact!

We have worked with Melanie for a few years in different capacities. She helped us find a rental when my wife first moved to Connecticut, then helped us to buy our first home, and then helped us to sell that home and move into the house that our children will grow up in. Melanie is very thoughtful and took our wants and needs to heart; she remembered every little element we wanted in a home (a craft room, a home gym, a work space) which helped us know she wasn’t trying to get us to buy a house, but to buy our home. She has great insight into locations and common issues or trends with homes in the area which was especially helpful when we were looking to buy outside of the area where we currently lived. She has great connections that led to us having great financing, legal representation, inspectors, and photographers. Her instincts were also great, both in terms of what to offer when buying as well as what to ask for when selling. She was always available through call, text, or email, and we could always get a showing ASAP. I would highly recommend Melanie to anybody looking to buy or sell a home!

Melanie was a pleasure to work with. We were buying a home from out of state and she was flexible and informative from the first call. She visited a home on just a day's notice and gave us a tour of the property over the phone. After the tour, she talked through all of the positives and some of the complications of the property. We didn't end up making an offer, but Melanie supported us in seeing other homes and sending us property listings. She met with a family member to tour other homes for us and answered all of our questions. Most importantly, when we found the house we wanted, we were up against a number of other offers and on a very short timeline. Melanie suggested a price and explained how an escalation clause works. There were offers higher than ours, but with the escalation clause, and the letter she suggested we write to the owners, our offer was selected. The inspection process wasn't easy but she was a star and we are so happy in our new home. Melanie has deep real estate knowledge, is committed to your search, and is a pleasure to work with.

We worked with Melanie Gunn in the purchase of our condo in 2018 and again to purchase our home in 2022. Melanie is incredible. She did an amazing job in guiding us on our first home purchase in 2018, but we really appreciated her brilliance when we were trying to find a home in this crazy real estate market. For an entire year, she worked tirelessly to identify listings and make herself available for showings. She always gave us invaluable advice and insights along the way and helped us make quick and informed offers on properties. I am not sure that we would have found and secured our home in this market without her expertise and skill. Melanie is an absolute GEM of an agent. We worked with Melanie as first time buyers. She didn’t simply guide us through the process (which, I’ll add, she did so wonderfully), but she really cared about finding the exact right fit for us. She never pushed us to make a decision too quickly, tried to convince us that we needed something more expensive than our range, or tried to brush away our concerns in favor of trying to close a deal. In fact, Melanie’s knowledge and attention to detail caught red flags in properties that we never would have known to look for, saving us wasted time or even major headaches had we moved forward with those properties!

Melanie is extremely detail-oriented and frequently was reaching out with properties she thought were a good fit (and they genuinely were properties that met our specific requirements — not some general email blast). She is also extremely responsive and very fast at setting up showings, which is so crucial in such a fast-paced market.

When we finally found “the one”, Melanie worked tirelessly to make sure we closed quickly and on time. She even helped us negotiate with the seller after the inspection to put some money back in our pockets. She really didn’t have to do that, as she knew the deal was going to go through regardless. But she genuinely went above and beyond what she had to do, and for that we are so grateful. In fact, we raved about Melanie so much that the owner of the condo we were renting hired her to sell the condo after we moved out (it closed in less than two months!!)
