Our house was an unusual house and selling after 43 years could have been a difficult experience. It was originally a carriage house for the house next door. In the early 1900s it was converted to a house and subsequently had three additions. When we decided to sell, we interviewed several agents. Most of them told us all the negatives of our house being on a main road and a different style which would not appeal to many. Some even said, the feature that would sell the house would be the land. Melissa and Stacy, her real estate partner, presented a totally different picture. They both loved the house for its unique features, and craftsmanship in the conversion and additions and thought it would sell quickly and should be priced 25% higher than the other agents. This made us a little wary, but we decided to go with them because of their sincerity. Through the whole process, they were charming, patient and always available. When we had to delay the listing for almost a year, they both said, “The important thing is to do what is best for you. We will list it only when you feel comfortable.” They never made us feel pressured, but instead graciously took the extra time with us, provided us with their professional insight and made us feel as though we were a part of their family. When the listing went live and we worried about all the negatives other agents has pointed out, they both were encouraging and upbeat, sold the house in 10 days and kept us smiling through the whole process. We love you both.

This was not an easy market to navigate with the unpredictable rate spikes and buyers making offers and then backing out, but Melissa Lawson (and her business partner, Stacy Milner) maintained a high degree of professionalism. They were transparent throughout the entire process, from simple direct feedback to helping us through the staging of our home to the negotiation process. Our home fell through twice (nothing to do with the home but all to do with the market conditions) before selling on the third attempt. Melissa (and Stacy) was persistent in their efforts with the multiple showings they attended on our behalf. Their follow through was extraordinary because they knew that selling required multiple touch points; they reached back out to all of the agents and buyers who came through our home and leveraged their strong internet/social media presence, reaching out to their prospects old and new in an effort to sell our home. They came to every appointment and stayed with the inspectors and attended appointments that were required for the sale to go through. They knew the market and it showed throughout the process, leading us to sell our home above asking price!

Melissa Lawson is highly recommended. I have worked with multiple realtors over the years, and while all have been good--Melissa really went the extra mile. For us, we were moving from California to Connecticut, but due to COVID and having young children, we were unable to visit in person. First, Melissa took the time to get to know us and our family through multiple phone conversations, so she understood what we wanted and what we felt we needed. Melissa further took the extra effort to video-show multiple homes for us and walked us through all aspects of the home, pointing out positives and potential negatives. All in all we worked with her for a good 10 months until we found the right house for us--including looking in multiple areas adjacent to her primary working area--and she was always helpful and willing to show more. She even volunteered to represent us at the closing.

Melissa was very knowledgeable and would point out considerations we would not have thought to consider and was able to help guide us through all aspects of the process. She was careful not to tell us what to think, respecting that everyone has different preferences, but did point out aspects for us to consider in making our decisions. She also did not push us to buy the first house we saw or to purchase the most expensive houses.

In sum, we found Melissa to be responsive, hard working, accommodating, and the perfect balance of tough and pleasant. We would use her again, but we love our home and won't be moving anytime soon.

Melissa is simply excellent. I am an overly thorough and cautious buyer, and she handled me with class... My wife and I were working towards to purchasing our first home and initiated our search with Melissa. We were very ignorant to the home buying process and required a high level of education (a polite way of saying that we required some "hand holding"). Melissa was glad to walk us through everything, every step of the way. More impressively, she never pressured us in any form to purchase or settle on a house. She proved that by graciously being available for us anytime we contacted her about a house of interest, for YEARS. Every year, my wife and I would periodically check the market to see if we could find our "dream home". But, each year the timing or inventory was not right. Regardless, Melissa was there... on time, pleasant, not in a rush, honest... she was always available for us. Until, finally, we found the house we wanted to pursue. And again, Melissa was there, through the whole process, providing the high level of hand holding that we needed. I knew that I could always get in touch with her, and depend on her to communicate with the seller's party on my behalf. Purchasing a home was an extremely, intimidating prospect for me and my wife, which is why we are so grateful to have met Melissa. She went above and beyond for us, and that is exactly what my family needed to get through the rigors of purchasing a home as smoothly as possible. What's even better is that we gained a friend in the process. I highly recommend Melissa. She's certainly a gem.

I can't honestly say enough about how amazing this process and experience was BECAUSE OF Melissa. She is not only a wonderful person, but became a true friend in a very short period of time. She asked great questions to fully understand what it was that my partner and I were looking for - and was so honest when we saw places that she didn't think were for us. She is SO knowledgeable, too. I learned a ton, felt heard and guided, while never feeling sold to or pressured at all during the entire buying process. My mind is honestly still blown that I experienced buying a house with minimal stress. I owe all of that to Melissa. I will be recommending her to all of my friends and family.
