Melissa Stearns

Born and raised in Santa Cruz, MJ Stearns continues to make her home here while helping clients find theirs. Prior to joining Room Realty, MJ began her career in real estate negotiating short sales and managing foreclosures. Today, she works with first-time home buyers, clients in default, and FSBOs. Given her expert knowledge of the area, marketing and web strategies, and experience with handling challenging circumstances, you can feel confident in knowing that MJ handles even the most difficult transactions with ease.

With a father who always had a passion for real estate and who encouraged her to enter the business, MJ earned her license in 2005 and is thrilled to be working for one of the top realty teams in the country. Citing her family and her goals as the inspiration for her career, MJ is committed to giving her clients the professionalism, compassion, and respect they deserve to make their investment in the entire process worth it.

Much of MJ’s spare time is also devoted to real estate: She‚ was a weekend instructor at the CA Realty School, helping students prep for their licensing exam, and is also on the local Board of Realtors Education Committee and Housing Foundation. But not everything revolves around real estate for MJ: When she takes a break, she enjoys Bikram yoga, tasty food, and walks along Santa Cruz’s beautiful beaches.
