About Merrill
In 1977, Merrill began his career in real estate, involved in the leasing of 47 retail projects, traveling throughout six Southeastern states. In 1992, he founded Merrill P Thomas Company, Inc., a commercial real estate development and brokerage company, now celebrating their “30th Year Anniversary”. MPT prides itself on integrity, performance, transparency and a long-standing reputation as a leader in commercial real estate brokerage, development, and property management.
Merrill has developed an award-winning team (the 2022 Lagniappe Readers’ Choice Nappie Award for “The Best Commercial Real Estate Firm” in Mobile and Baldwin County) and assists clients in investing, purchasing, selling and developing properties into residential homes, multi-family properties, freestanding retail buildings, office, industrial warehouses, and distribution centers as well as created leasing and management services for 10 community size shopping centers located along the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to east Texas. Merrill is deeply committed to the community and has held Board and member positions on numerous State, City and local boards.
