Michael Berney

Michael Berney is a seasoned real estate professional with decades of experience in brokerage management, business development, and strategic growth, as well as personal real estate and management. After joining Liberty Realty in 1995, Michael opened Liberty’s first Jersey City office in 2001 and eventually rose to Regional Director. He played a pivotal role in building the independent brokerage into one of New Jersey’s largest and most successful privately owned real estate companies. In 2025, he transitioned into an advisory role and helped guide the company through its successful acquisition by Corcoran Sawyer Smith—a merger that created a powerhouse organization of more than 500 licensed real estate agents. That same year, Michael co-founded Bluestone Title, a new venture he operates alongside two partners: one of the region’s premier title experts and a highly accomplished real estate developer. Together, they bring a comprehensive, expert-driven approach to title services.
