Early Life: In 1970 Michael De Chene’s father happened to be in Lima, Peru when he met his mother. It was hard to miss his father being that he was one of a few gringo’s working there with blue eyes. Once they were married he brought her home to Chicago, Illinois where Michael was born in February 1972…….and YES they are huge Chicago BEARS, BULLS, BLACKHAWKS, and WHITE SOX fans. Soon after Michael’s father was hired by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. During his father’s career they moved 7 times (Colorado, Texas (El Paso), Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and Texas (Austin).
Career: Michael graduated from James Bowie High School in Austin, Texas and was accepted into the University of Texas (Austin). However, after only two years he decided that college wasn’t for him and instead joined the U.S. Navy. For the first five years he was haze grey and underway; attached to a helicopter squadron (HS-15 in Jacksonville, Florida) where they provided air support for USS Saratoga (CV-60) in 1994 and USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in 1996 which included counter-terrorism operations and anti-piracy operations with SEAL Team 8 Echo Platoon. From there Michael transferred to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron One in Patuxent River, Maryland where he was tasked with implementing transport, loading, and testing of weapons systems on the Seahawk helicopter for the Hellfire Missile. He wound up his ten years in the Navy as a Military Police Officer. After the Navy Michael completed his Bachelors degree in Social Psychology from Park University and his Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi. He then chose to pursue a career in the insurance business. He can’t say that he enjoyed the business but it did allow him to meet his wife Crissy who happened to also be an insurance agent working for the same company.
Personal Life: Crissy and Michael were married at the Chapel of Incarnate Word in Nov 2009. Soon after they welcomed their first daughter in March 2011 and second daughter in May 2012. They are parishioners at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas where he met an incredible group of friends through the Knights of Columbus and ACTS ministry.
Professional Life: Michael has been a Full-Time Realtor for over 7 years. He is not the part time realtor working off the dining room table hoping for a deal or two to pay for the next vacation. This is important when it comes to trust, contract negation, tort law, Real Estate law, and the everyday pulse of the San Antonio market. There are no other Realtors like him.
