Michael Gault

Michael was born in the Upstate of South Carolina into a life filled with love and passion for all things outdoors. His dad, Mike, was a Game Warden with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources throughout Michael’s entire childhood and he was able to instill these values in his sons at a young age.

As a child, Michael followed his dad into the turkey and deer woods of Union County at every opportunity. The lessons learned on those trips and countless days afield laid the foundation for a life revolving around game and the land. Michael attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. graduating with a B.A. in Government and Political Theory in 2010. After College, he went to work with the Governmental Affairs office of Ducks Unlimited in Washington, D.C. While in D.C., he saw how an intimate knowledge of the law was critical in shaping policies regarding game and land throughout the Nation. This experience led Michael to the Charleston School of law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2013. Since 2013, Michael has practiced law in the private sector and more recently in government service as an Assistant Solicitor in South Carolina.

Michael decided in 2018 to rejoin his dad pursuing the passion instilled by Mike so many years ago. Michael has combined his life experiences, education, and sincere passion for the land to found Gault Land Company. He is proud to welcome his dad as a Senior Land Specialist after years as an agent with another land brokerage. His wife Kellie joins as the Company’s Director of Marketing. Michael and Kellie now live in Pauline, SC and are the proud parents of a son, Quinn, who will hopefully develop the same passions shared by his dad and “Papa”.
