I LOVE living in central Virginia! There's so much this area offers without being a huge metropolitan area. Just like the name says, the area is in the center of Virginia with nearly any activity within a 2 hour drive. Want to go to the beach? Less than 2 hours to the east. Looking to go hiking in the mountains or view the amazing fall colors, less than 2 hours to the west. Looking for something more urban (and congested?) you can be in Washington, DC in less than 2 hours* (*depending on traffic it could be as little as 90 minutes or several hours.)

But you don't need to travel to have great experiences! You can white water raft, kayak, or hike on the James River and the surrounding park system. Want something more cultured? Enjoy the art and traveling exhibits at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts or catch a show at the Altria Theater and other venues around the city, or visit some of the many historic sites in the area. Hungry? We have oodles of restaurants from casual dining and neighborhood joints to fine dining establishments.
