Michael Nelson

Michael is a seasoned real estate professional in the Topsail Island NC area having personally sold more than $100 million of property over the past ten years. He is thoroughly versed in the complexities of coastal development and building regulations and has experience with resort and rental investment properties. Before moving to the coast Michael was a CPA and audit manager for an international accounting firm and later spent sixteen years as CFO for a $300 million automotive retail organization. The breadth of knowledge, experience, and attention to detail he brings from these earlier careers have been key contributors to his success in the real estate industry.

More than just a numbers guy, Michael's creative side comes out in his wood carving and painting with many of his works having been sold at local charity auctions. As a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain with a fifty-ton master rating, Michael enjoys boating and has first-hand knowledge of the local waters around Topsail Island and the nearby Intracoastal Waterway. A pastime he and his wife, Joyce, thoroughly enjoy is skippering charter cruises in the stunning waters of the Caribbean from ports of call such as the British Virgin Islands.
