About Michael
Mike Rozenboom actually started his real estate career in 2001 with Re/Max Classic in the metro Detroit where he grew up. After taking a short break from real estate while living in Atlanta for a few years and having their second child, Mike and his wife Catherine moved to Nashville and dove back into the Real Estate industry full time and full force. That was over 13 years ago.
Mike started with Jay Nelson with Re/Max Elite and the team sold over 200 homes in 2006. After spending a few years on his own Mike joined DeSelms Real Estate as an independent agent and spent 6 years learning from the top real estate team in the state. "You cannot buy an education like I have had in my career." Mike says. "Working on two of the most dynamic and successful teams in Nashville has exposed me to more knowledge and experience than I could have ever gained if I had just been on my own and I have built amazing relationships with these people who are the best in the industry. I am so thankful and am the better for it."
Mike has represented builders including builders who built in the upscale neighborhoods of Watkins Creek in Franklin and Sunset Harbour in Mount Juliet as well as popular townhomes in Nashville's Matlock development and the single family homes in Murfreesboro's Seward Crossing. Working with builders gave Mike insight that he still uses today when helping buyers navigate through the home buying process. It is especially helpful when buyers are buying new construction and the builder's agents love working with Mike because of his expertise. "The big builders enjoy working with me because I know the process and can help my buyers understand as we work through the various stages of new construction. But I can also respectfully call out the builder when they are not living up to expectations because I have been around this for so long."
The industry has changed a lot but the need for a dedicated professional to guide buyers and sellers has remained constant, even with the amazing amount of technology today. "If anything, the technology has just allowed us to focus our efforts as agents on the families we are working with. My wife was a travel agent years ago and obviously that industry has faded as people can book their tickets online. If they make a mistake in their hotel reservation they can recover but if they make a mistake in buying or selling their home, the consequences are huge! It is not just a funny story in an Instagram post like a poorly planned trip, it has lifelong and potentially enormous financial consequences. That is why I love what I do - it really does matter."
Mike has been happily married for over 20 years and has 3 teenagers. "I actually love it which makes people raise their eyebrows. They are amazing and respectful kids. No matter how good my career gets, my family will always be the best thing I ever did." And Mike still loves dad jokes. "I was going to tell you a time travel joke....but you didn't like it."
