About Michael
Michael Slaughter - husband, father, business owner and community figure - was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas. He was an excellent student and graduated early with big dreams.
Michael met and married his middle school sweetheart, Leah, soon after founding their first business together in 2006. He and his wife own multiple companies including a real estate firm, development company, real estate holdings, and title firm.
As OmniKey Realty’s owner, co-founder, and broker, Michael is tasked with routinely speaking around the nation and on the radio about his and Leah’s successful business ventures with the goal of helping others achieve financial success.
Following his graduation from the police academy in 2013, Michael became a reserve police officer for Collin County where he now holds the rank of lieutenant. Michael volunteers his time arresting fugitives, working to combat human trafficking/narcotics, and preserving the peace within all areas of Collin County.
His community involvement does not stop at policing. In late 2019, Michael publicly announced his candidacy for Parker City Council and expressed his belief in governmental transparency, accountability, and responsible community development.
Michael additionally serves on numerous boards and commissions throughout the state for law enforcement, real estate, and general government including the Parker Parks and Recreations Commission.
In his twenties, Michael and his wife adopted three children aged six, eight, and twelve. They also foster and adopt pets through Legacy Humane Society and Paws in the City. The Slaughter family currently owns four dachshunds.
His passion and love for the people and pets in his life is known by all who connect with Michael. He and his wife enjoy fostering animals through Legacy Humane Society and Paws in the City, as well as spending time advocating and hosting events for foster children, first responders, veterans, and abused and neglected animals.
Some of Michael’s favorite activities in life include reading, volleying antique coins and guns, fishing, and expanding his knowledge and love of history by visiting historical sites throughout the country.
