About Michael
Mike Stine grew up in Portland, OR with his mother, sister, and brother. When he was 12 years old, their landlord sold the home that he had grown up in. The only home he had known. He realized at an early age that owning your own home was essential in having the safety and security people want for their families.
He joined the Marine Corps in 1990, three days after graduating from high school and was married to his lovely wife within a year. After his initial four-year tour, he went back to Portland to join the Marine Corps Reserve and began working in the construction trades with his father-in-law and later with a friend from his church. Once again, his love for the family home was renewed. Their dream of home ownership became a reality in 1998 when his father-in-law and that same friend from church helped him to build their first home. After 3 years in the reserves, he decided to take an opportunity to go back to active service with the Marine Corps and served until the end of 2016.
When he retired in 2016, he wanted to do something with the rest of his professional life that would be important in the lives of others. He had bought and sold several homes throughout his 26+ years in uniform and came to realize that the most important factor in how enjoyable any tour of duty was could be directly tied to how happy his wife was in her home. Helping families to find homes where they could live happy and secure lives both emotionally and financially was a worthy endeavor. He wanted to do that job in a place where his family and he had been at their happiest and healthiest with his favorite people on the planet, the people of Southern California.
He and his wife celebrated their 33rd anniversary this year and have three children and six grandchildren.
