Michael Vargas

Mr. Vargas has over 25 years of diversified real estate experience with a focus on the appraisal and valuation of real estate in the NY Metropolitan Area. Mr. Vargas is recognized as one of the most experienced professionals in the appraisal of New York area cooperative and condominium housing; and luxury, mansion, complex type residential real estate. Since forming Vanderbilt Appraisal Company in 2003, Mr. Vargas has been engaged to perform appraisal services for some of the area’s most valuable, prestigious, high-dollar value residential properties in Manhattan and the Outer-Boroughs; Westchester County and the Hudson Valley region; the Catskills region; Long Island and the Hamptons; and suburban New Jersey spanning from Bergen County to the Jersey Shore.
Mr. Vargas received his initial appraisal training while in the employ of a large California-based lending institution, Home Savings of America. In 1995, he joined the Manhattan-based firm of Mitchell, Maxwell & Jackson. Mr. Vargas later joined Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. as the principal residential appraiser and director of Residential Valuation Services. In 2003, Mr. Vargas, in association with Terra Holdings, formed Vanderbilt Appraisal Company, LLC which quickly became one of the regions premier appraisal firms in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area.
