About Mick
A 17-year resident of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Mick purchased and renovated two Brooklyn brownstones himself and has the expertise and contacts necessary to help clients do the same. Not one to simply tell clients what they want to hear, he works hard to establish trust by focusing on facts, real-world data and his own personal experience to show clients the realities of the marketplace. From that foundation of honesty, they can move forward as a team to reach the client's goals. Michael specializes in historic Bedford-Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights and the rest of Brooklyn, and he is both a Certified Negotiation Expert and a Certified Buyers Representative.
Originally from London, England, Mick has lived in New York City for more than 37 years and deeply appreciates the diversity of people, architecture, dining and entertainment in his Brooklyn home. When he's not working, you'll often find him watching his 13-year- old play soccer.

Kudos to my real estate agent, Mick O’Connor. Very knowledgeable, kind and patient assistance with securing advance funds via Compass Concierge, as well as from buyer to facilitate the pre-closing move. Also referred a Texas Compass agent to assist with relocation!!

We loved working with Mick! He was very responsive and always available to talk and give us his expertise on real estate in Brooklyn. It was really helpful to have him in the negotiation phase of our purchase and he had great advice. He took extra time and was at the apartment for the inspection when we could not be there. My wife and I would definitely work with him again!

Phenomenal experience working with Mick. Buying a house is already a nightmare on it's own, much less trying to buy one in Brooklyn of all places. There's countless hidden pitfalls all over the place when dealing with incredibly antiquated buildings. And above all, the cultural subtleties of the neighborhood that can't just be read about online, and having a local neighborhood resident with a genuine stake in the community represent you is priceless.
The townhouse I bought took just shy of 7 months from contract to closing, filled with untold amounts of bureaucratic red tape with attorneys, city, etc. With what was supposedly one of his most time-to-closing longest transaction to date, Mick kept a solid and persistent work ethic throughout it all. From the start, Mick was very forth-coming and honest with the suggested listings and open houses, spotting countless details that I missed out on during open houses.
Above all, Mick continues to maintain a very amicable relationship post transaction too. Often times real estate agents will up off and disappear the moment their check cashes, but Mick continues to check in and interact with his clients afterwards, with genuine sincerity.
