Mikayla's personal enthusiasm for housing and neighborhoods began in her early twenties when she was studying Urban Planning and running a professional house painting business in Seattle. After graduating from the University of Washington with a major in Community, Environment and Planning and a minor in Geography, she worked as an Analyst for a Berkeley-based economic development consulting firm. During that time she received formal training in comparative market analysis, financial feasibility studies, and gained a deep knowledge of the Bay Area housing market.

Mikayla is a proud Berkeley homeowner and landlord excitedly awaiting the day when her two boys become the 4th generation in her family to graduate from Berkeley High.
