I rarely write reviews and I've never written one for a realtor, but Mike is so good at what he does that I felt compelled to let others know of my experience with him. My wife and I met Mike at an open house while scouting out the Auburn area as a place to relocate and retire. We were not looking to connect up with a realtor at this point but felt so comfortable with Mike that we asked him to show us a few homes. We have worked with him now for about a year and recently closed on a house outside of Auburn. From the start Mike impressed me with his wealth of knowledge and information about the area and his feel for the various communities in the Sierra foothills. Throughout the entire homebuying process, Mike made himself readily available to us, expeditiously responding to every query and concern we had along the way. With a few days notice, he was always available to show us properties of interest in the area. My wife and I are quite particular regarding our needs and Mike was always responsive to our questions and concerns. We have bought and sold five or six properties over the years and worked with a number of realtors. Along with being the kindest and most generous, Mike is by far the hardest working realtor I have ever known. As I was also interested In homes that may require some updating I found Mike to be particularly helpful as he is an expert DIYer himself. His familiarity with the codes and laws related to construction, knowledge of the resources in the area to tap, and experience with design and building were all invaluable. We ended up buying a home that did require a fair amount of work, and Mike has been by a number of times to check on our progress and offer very helpful suggestions and advice. What really sets Mike apart, however, are the personal qualities he brings to his profession. He does not judge, push or try to persuade, but instead simply provides the requisite information necessary to allow one to make an informed decision. His goal, by his own admission and borne out in my experience with him, is to find the best fit and perfect home for his client. I have found over the years that it is oftentimes the people who really love what they do that turn out to be the best at what they do. Mike is one of these people. He is a true professional who knows his field inside and out, takes his work seriously and takes great joy in what he is doing. His interest in his clients is genuine and goes well beyond what one would anticipate from a realtor. Over the short time I have known Mike I have come to view him as a good friend. As a realtor he can't be beat, and I strongly recommend him.

Mike is an awesome agent: exactly the kind of person you want in your corner. He's knowledgeable about the business and the territory, but also a very good listener. He truly want's to help you find the house that is right for you. Whether you're buying or selling, you need a skilled agent who is genuinely looking out for your interests, and I don't think you can do much better than Mike Phillips. Thanks Mike, we couldn't have done it without you!

WOW - - we met Mike at an open house. Started chatting about what we would consider the perfect home or even maybe the final move - - that forever home. It was such a great chat and now fast forward we may be looking at our forever home - - found by Mike. Has we would look at homes Mike wouldn't ever push anything on us. I have been with other realtors that would say "this is perfect for you". I would always think how the heck do you know whats perfect for me. I have bought/sold many homes and Mike is far the best person I have ever worked with.
