MJ Sauer is a talented and motivated business owner, real estate broker, and investor in New Orleans, LA. Originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, MJ grew up surrounded by family, sports, and the spirit of entrepreneurship. MJ received her undergraduate degree in communications at The Ohio State University, where she played on the field hockey team. In 1995 MJ moved to New Orleans to attend University of New Orleans for graduate school, where she would receive her masters in Urban Planning.
New Orleans truly sparked inspiration within MJ for historic preservation. MJ went on to receive her real estate license in 1999 before founding Urban Vision Properties in 2002, a company with the goal of restoring blighted properties in New Orleans, which later equipped her with the tools to help rebuild New Orleans post Katrina. Upon receiving her brokers license in 2006, Urban Vision Properties committed to being an active part of the revitalization of the city by not only rebuilding damaged homes, but also by helping people understand and conquer the unique challenges of the real estate market during the revitalization of New Orleans.
Post Katrina, MJ was focused and determined to rebuild New Orleans, revitalize Mid-City, and generally be a force for good in the world. As longtime residents of Mid City, MJ and her husband Jeremy, opened the beloved neighborhood sports bar, Mid City Yacht Club, as an opportunity to help rebuild the community. As the president of the Ohio State Alumni Association, MCYC became the official OSU bar in New Orleans, drawing a loyal crowd for each Ohio State game. Along with owning a bar, MJ continued to renovate damaged homes in Mid City and throughout New Orleans, which makes her uniquely qualified to handle the complexity of buying, selling, and leasing in all markets.
