Nancy did an amazing job for us in our search and purchase of our first home. She provided expertise and valuable information at every potential home during our search and answered all our questions about the risks and benefits of each place such as which tiles were likely to be asbestos and how to deal with that or what repairs might be necessary in an as-is property. She had fresh ideas about how we might make offers on places given the current market, like which places would need a professional cleaning built in to the offer. We wanted to understand as much as possible of the process as first time home buyers and her patience and encouragement were exactly what we needed. The support she provided went above and beyond normal expectations and I think we were so lucky to have found her.
In short, any agent can write your offer, but if Nancy is your agent, she will talk over ideas you might have about how to make your offer and she will show up with integrity and professionalism that is sure to get you the best chance at buying a home. She does a lot of work behind the scenes and isn’t afraid to ask questions and advocate for her clients. Our successful offer wasn’t even the highest one, but with her experience and team we were able to look like the most sure deal that would not fall through.

Nancy went above and beyond to help us sell our house in Chicago. We had to leave the city with many projects needed before the house could be sold. Nancy did everything to coordinate the packup, preperation, cleaning, showings and eventual sale of our house. We worked with Nancy to sell our townhome in the city. We interviewed several companies/people, and by far, Nancy stood out like a shining star. She came prepared with a notepad of data that she gathered pre-meeting, which impressed me tremendously. She did market research for us BEFORE we even decided to go with her which shows how productive, knowledgeable, and ready she is to go to bat for us. Compared to other brokerage companies, Compass was a bit higher in commission rates, but for the services they provided and Nancy's guidance, IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. My husband and I nary lifted a finger and we drove all the decision making. She directed us what to do, where to sign, who to contact, and they did all the rest. With Nancy's guidance (she recommended staging) and appropriate pricing due to the housing market, we went under contract within the weekend of listing and got above asking price (with at least a 5 party bidding war). Her communication is what I liked most, because we always knew what was going on, and when we had questions, it got answered quickly. It was the smoothest selling process ever and the experience I had compared to when we sold with Redfin for our first home was like night and day. I would absolutely recommend Compass, but more so, Nancy as your listing agent.

Nancy was an absolute pleasure to work with on the sale of our condo in Chicago. From start to finish we received superb service. Nancy is very professional, asks all the right questions, makes us feel in control and involved in the selling process, provided us with great advice on what to do to get ready to list and data to back up her thinking in list price and marketing. We listed our condo on a Friday and by end of day Monday we had multiple offers. And throughout the entire process - past the offers- she was in constant communication with us. It is very clear that Nancy is someone to have by your side for all your real estate needs - she will be involved with you every step of the way. From start to finish, Nancy took care of our every need. Anytime we texted or called her, she was free willing to help us out with whatever task we threw at her. This was our first time buying a house, and it couldn't have gone any smoother. Even when issues popped up on the seller's end of the home purchase, Nancy took great care of us. Although I know that we are now in our forever home... if we ever have to purchase a house again, we will be working with Nancy.

Nancy Prelaske has represented us for over 7 years in 6 purchases and 4 sales of single family homes and 3-flat properties for our investment company. Through her contacts, she was able to connect us with a social services company that leased 5 of these properties from us. She will always present an extensive and detailed listing of comps for your review. Her opinions regarding market prices for the listings have been very accurate and her advice on the negotiations has always been beneficial in closing the deal, whether buying or selling. Nancy is forthright and honest in her assessments of your property. Her advice on upgrades and improvements before the sales of our properties has always resulted in returns above the amount spent on those improvements.

When I recently needed to sell the home of an elderly parent, Nancy was the obvious choice even though it was outside of her normal territory. She showed the same dedication to our personal sale as she always has with our business investments. The photos, video presentation, marketing, advice and personal salesmanship got the home sold.
