I have known Niko for 30+ years so when it came time to sell my condo and buy my first home, then sell that home and buy a new one, working with him was a no brainer. His team is, was and always will be highly efficient, professional, incredibly hard working and beyond easy to work with. Niko and his team seem to be able to take on all of the stress that goes with these major life transactions and it makes the process so much better. I worked closely with Elise Shell recently and she is amazing and a huge asset to the team. In addition, Niko's knowledge and passion for real estate, especially in the city of Chicago, is unparalleled. I highly recommend NiKo Collaborative and will hopefully get to work with them again!

I really can't say enough good things about Niko and his team. Niko's attention to detail, his care and understanding spoke volumes. We were selling our childhood home after 50+ years so it was bittersweet and emotional. Niko listened and supported us every step of the way. His team took care of everything we needed and made the process easy and stress-free. We have used Niko and his A+ Team multiple times. Three things that make them exceptional:

1) Communication (hand holding) - They walk you through every stage of the process and let you know what to expect. They understand we do not go through this process regularly and make themselves available to answer all my annoying questions and ease any paranoia I may have around the process and things that could go wrong. They are SUPER responsive so you never feel like you're in the dark, waiting for answers. They are physically present for every part of the process too (open houses, showings, inspections, etc.) even if you cannot attend. They begin negotiating with your counterparty immediately ("ohh, these counters are old and need to be replaced"; "is that window a little foggy?"; "these cabinets are brown still??")
2) Execution - Niko will help keep your deal on-track. A home purchase / sale can become very emotional. Deals can blow up over the stupidest, smallest things and people will let their emotions boil over. Niko and team do a great job of letting you know what to expect and what is normal. He always has a good recommendation on how to proceed and his instinct is usually correct. He has had to calm me down a number of times and remind me of the bigger picture to get the deal done.
3) Honest - Niko is just an honest person. I think real estate brokers get a bad rap for being slimy or sneaky, but with Niko, you feel like you can trust his advice. He's never pushed anything or put me in an uncomfortable spot. In fact, in a few instances where I was willing to go higher on price / budget, he has advised me against it (despite that it may make him more commission). He genuinely wants you to feel good about the process. During negotiations he will also let you know if what you're asking is not standard or a non-starter. He always provides honest feedback, both ways. And, at the end of the day, he will concede and always do what the client wants. Even if it makes him cringe (sorry, Niko).

For anyone thinking of using Niko, just meet with him and let him know what you're thinking. You won't be disappointed.

We love working with Niko and his team! He has helped us both purchase and sell our Chicago home of five years, as well as sell another rental property in the area.

We decided to sell our home during the coronavirus pandemic, which felt risky, but his team generated a lot of interest that eventually let to a good offer. Even though we experienced a bit of a bumpy process due to issues on the side of the buyer, Niko navigated everything brilliantly in order to maintain the original offer.

Niko is incredibly kind, communicative, and enthusiastic. He's been of tremendous help over the years, we trust him completely and wouldn't work with anyone else in the Chicago area!

Niko, Marie and team are amazing. They were available on extremely short notice in helping us list our place and was able to put us in touch with painters to help repaint the place and get a photographer in quickly (with amazing photos) and got the listing all done in days. The Apostal team is very professional and kept us in the loop and progress and the experience was amazing. Highly recommended and would definitely work with the team again in the future.
