06/12/2013 - Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $450K in Severna Park, MD. Nilou Jones is amazing. I have worked with many realtors over the years, but she is by far the best. She assisted me in both selling a home and buying the next one. I asked Nilou to come preview my house before I placed it on the market. She gave positive feedback about the house, and offered ideas for improvements. I listened to the ideas, did what she suggested, and she listed the house. Within days, I had multiple offers. 12/21/2013 - Helped me rent a Single Family home in Grasonville, MD. My husband and I were living in Australia and returning to the States after 3 years away. We were moving to an area we had not been to for about 9 years and we were not sure where we wanted to live, but had a few ideas. Nilou was amazing at helping us find a rental with everything we could ask for. We were looking at locations a bit further out of the city and Nilou drove all over the place looking at houses for us. She sent back very detailed information ad was spot on with all of the descriptions and focused on the things that we felt were most important. She did all of this even though we had never met and we were still in the process of moving back to the States, so she did it without having us here. 04/22/2014 - Helped me rent a Single Family home in Millersville, MD. I would highly recommend Nilou to anyone looking to buy or a rent a home. I am a military spouse moving to the Ft. Meade area, so everything was completely new to me. She not only helped with my understanding of the communities and neighborhoods, but also with local schools. We were in the market to rent a home, but we also looked at some to buy as well. Nilou was very quick to inform us of new listings, which gave us the best possible chance to find what we wanted. 08/17/2013 - Bought a home in 2013. My wife and I can not recommend Nilou Jones highly enough! If you're looking for someone who will give you an honest opinion on things, who will walk you through the entire buying process and who will ask all the questions for you that you're afraid to ask...go with Nilou! We were first time home buyers and had NO idea what we were doing. Nilou not only helped us to dodge what would have probably become a nightmare house (mold and water issues), but she also helped us to find a great house, at a good price, in an awesome area and come closing time, there were absolutely no surprises with anything for us. Which as first time homebuyers, we were rather concerned about. In fact, Nilou did such a good job that the seller commented multiple times that he wished she'd have been working for him...and I'm not even kidding! 06/13/2013 - Bought a home in 2013. We originally thought that we would purchase a home without an agent, but quickly realized that, as first-time homebuyers, we had no idea what we were doing. We got connected with Nilou through the an email request on an online listing. Nilou was nothing short of a blessing. We had been researching the area and following the housing market for about two years and knew the general area where we wanted to purchase. We met Nilou and she did a presentation about the home-buying process in general. She then took us to see a few different homes. We fell in love with the first one, made an offer later that day, and had a contract by the end of the day. Throughout the entire process - home inspections, etc., Nilou was fantastic. 12/13/2012 - Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $375K in Crofton, MD. We came across Nilou through a random web request to view homes in Crofton. She responded within an hour or two, and our relationship built from there. As first time home buyers, the process was very intimidating, but Nilou walked us through each step to ensure we understood and were comfortable before signing any dotted line. Though we found our dream house quickly (literally the first we looked at), we never felt rushed or pressured by Nilou. She connected us with a fantastic Mortgage broker and settlement company that made the entire process as stress free as it could possibly be. 11/02/2014 - Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $300K in Odenton, MD. Back in July, I had just learned I was getting a job in Maryland and I decided to start looking for houses to buy. As I had never bought a house before, I started by looking up homes on Zillow and contacting agents that were listed as associated with the houses. I learned later that one of the agents I contacted asked Nilou to call me. When Nilou called me, I was a bit apprehensive at first, wondering what she wanted (I'm usually pretty slow to trust people). However, as the call went on, I became more sure that I could trust her. She explained a lot of the basics of buying a house to me in a way that was informative but still not at all demeaning. After that call I had already decided that I would choose her as my realtor. It was still over a month until I planned to move to Maryland from Oregon, so in the meantime Nilou helped me set up a search for houses that would be of interest to me. I would look through them, ask her things about various houses and the area, to which she would always respond promptly and helpfully. During this time Nilou also recommended me to Tim Milauskas as a mortgage lender. He was great as well, and the fact NIlou and Tim communicated so well made my process that much smoother. When I finally did come out to Maryland, Nilou had the places that I asked for booked to look at, and she blocked out parts of my first three days there to make sure I could have plenty of time to look at other houses that weren't on my original list, which I did. This was especially useful for me because I wanted to make my decision as soon as possible in order to minimize my time living in an extended stay hotel. When we were looking at each house, she would make sure I was thinking about the right aspects (ones that couldn't be easily changed) and helped me figure out what I was really looking for without trying to steer me toward or away from any particular house. In the end, I had signed the first papers to buying the house by my fourth day of looking. After I had made my decision, Nilou helped me all the way up through closing and beyond. She kept me informed of all I had to do and recommended people to hire for each of these things, all of whom I have no complaints about. At the final walkthrough, the night before closing, Nilou came and helped even though she had pinched a nerve in her back the day before. It was readily apparent that it wasn't easy for her to be there, but she stuck with me. Even after closing, Nilou has been an advocate for me, helping me get in touch with someone to do a job that couldn't be done before closing and even chipping in some money out of her own pocket for something I couldn't get the sellers to do. During the process, I came to regard Nilou as I would an older sister. She was very personable while still remaining professional. She even called my mom mom herself, and we would tease my mom together. I think that if I hadn't had a realtor as good as Nilou, I may still be looking for a house, or at least waiting to get into it. She really helped me through so many things I wouldn't have known what to do with. If I know anyone looking to buy a house in this area, the first thing I will say to them will be to recommend them to Nilou.
