Our family was looking for a realtor to sell our parents family home.We did not want to use someone we knew incase something went wrong. My sister and I searched Zillow for near by realtors. She picked 2 and I picked 2. we narrowed it down to 2. we picked these two realtors from the zillow reviews.nothing more, we knew nothing about them.we picked Oscar Barragan and another realtor. we made an appointment with them and had them come out to the property. Oscar Barragan was first, he came on time, and VERY prepared! He had a sence of humor and was very detailed on how to sell the property.Osacr made you feel comfortable and welcomed all questions.even our teenage kids that were there liked him. The other realtor came and was nice, and also came prepared,but we just felt more comfortable with Osacr Barragan. The family took a vote and hired Oscar. From day one, Oscar Barragan was patient with us, always keeped us informed on everything! He exceeded our expectation and we would definitely recommend Oscar to anyone! Oscar is a great agent, we work with 3 other agents before we meet Oscar and all three keep pressuring us to put in an offer on a house or condo that we did not like and would give us an attitude because we did not want that house or condo. One of the agents even told me that we could not purchase a house and keep offering us Condos. Oscar is a great agent, he worked with us, listened to what we wanted, and we did not feel pressured on placing offers on properties that we did not want. We engaged Oscar as a buyer-representing realtor because he was knowledgable about the Whittier area, being a local. He continually sent us listings which fit our requirements, and was always available to schedule appointments for home viewings at our request. His advisory, backed by a major realty firm with lawyers for consultation, proved valuable on many of the legal proceedings as we negotiated the harrowing course of making offers and counteroffers until finally deciding to go forward with purchasing our first home. Oscar was patient and worked at understanding our needs, and making sure we were happy with the choices we were making and homes we were viewing. He kept us informed without applying much pressure, and was ardent about seeing our purchase through until closing, before finally handing us the keys-- and then some; he even personally arranged for ameliorating some discrepancy caused by the inattentiveness of the seller's agent after closing, to ensure the happiness of our new beginning. I have purchased investment properties in the past and this time I was looking for a home for myself. I needed a realtor I could trust, that i felt comfortable with reviewing all my finances, would work with my schedule, had a positive attitude and most importantly was prompt to answer my questions. I worked with Oscar for 3 months from beginning to end in my home search. The following are the reasons I was extremely satisfied and would recommend Oscar to anyone -I had daily questions and Oscar would reply promptly each and every day. Whether it was through a phone call, text message or email I could always count on Oscar to reply and answer my questions and guide me through the process. -Oscar saved me so much time and headaches with the brilliant way he handled my home search. For two months I, each and every week, would use the MLS to submit a list of homes I was interested in. In no time at all I would check back into my personalized MLS account and I would be able to see Oscar’s comments. He would tell me which homes already had offers, which were already off the market, which were pending sale etc. The MLS system everyone uses to look for houses and every online site such as Zillow, redfin or zip reality might show up to date properties but at times those houses are already sold and you just can’t tell. I do not want to waste my time viewing properties that are already pending sale or that have pending offers above what I could afford. Oscar was always a great help in letting me know the most up to date status on properties and all I had to do was let him know which to follow up on for me with. -Oscar was always accommodating with his schedule to help work with mine. When I look for a realtor I do not want to work around their schedule, Oscar was amazing in the way he carefully crafted his day to help me. Right down to smallest details. When I needed to submit loan docs due the next day and my scanner malfunctioned Oscar meet me at his office late at night to help me scan my docs and submit counter offers etc. When it came down to the wire Oscar was there to help me out when I didn’t know what to do and i could not wait until the next business day. When Oscar came through for me after normal business hours, to me that is what counts the most. I could not recommend a better realtor. Thank you Oscar for all your help. Oscar was a very good realtor. I definitely would recommend him to anyone I knew who would be in the market for buying or selling. He really wanted us to make a good profit on our property. He helped to give us the appropriate ideas of what needed improvement for the house to sell. We were complete novices and had no idea what to do. He was very informed about all the details that go into selling and buying homes and what people are looking for. He was able to keep an eye on the house since it was in his neighborhood, which made us feel more at ease since the house was vacant. He was very honest with us as what we needed to do and what people wanted. He explained in layman's terms the process we must go through for placing a house on the market. He was not pushy either. And so many realtors are very pushy. He was very calm and nice and seemed to know what he was doing. He also kept in very good touch with me which is hard to do since I have no cell phone. He communicated through calls to my work, home and e-mails. I never had trouble getting in touch with him. Oscar sold a home for me in November, 2014. He went above and beyond, this was my first experience selling a property and he walked me through everything and was always available to answer all my questions. He even talked to the tenants who were living in the property and offered to help them find another rental and made the whole process very smooth for everybody. Oscar helped me to sell a relative's home after she passed away. He was very patient throughout the entire process. Since it was a trust sale, and the beneficiaries were in not hurry, we decided to stick to our list price and we had several offers fall through for various reasons. Oscar was very understanding and was able to get a better-than-asking final price after we received multiple offers on the home. When the home inspector incongruously required that a dishwasher be installed into the refurbished kitchen rather than leave the cutout, Oscar actually volunteered to meet the installers at the house so to let them in to perform the installation. This was above and beyond what one might expect, but it was very much appreciated as I live on the westside and there was a four-hour delivery window. We also had to install a new roof which caused one buyer to drop out of escrow and again, Oscar was helpful and patient as we had the work completed and relished the property.
