About Phil

Phil graduated from King’s College, London, with a degree in Biochemistry and completed a Master’s Degree in Higher Education at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Since graduating, he has been an educator and has taught at schools around the world.

Phil moved to the United States in 2008, joining his wife, Linda, in North Carolina. He and Linda moved to Bennington in 2015 when they purchased The Bennington Bookshop. With its thriving arts community, a professional theatre, and an award-winning museum, Bennington seemed like an ideal place to call home. Phil was particularly drawn to the beautiful scenery of the area. Throughout the warmer months, he likes to kayak on the lakes that are found in the local forests and mountains.

Phil is an avid reader, reading three or four books a week. He also writes book reviews for the local newspaper, Bennington Banner, and joins WAMC Radio for a book discussion several times a year.

Phil feels fortunate to have discovered Bennington and privileged to be a part of the community.
