Richard attributes his down-to-earth personality to his Oklahoma upbringing. He started shooting archery competitively across Oklahoma and went on to compete nationally winning an Oklahoma state championship, Shooter of the Year, two national archery tournaments in Missouri and Illinois, and ten national Top 10 finishes.
