Ricky began his commercial real estate career in 2008 after joining his father, Rick Read, Sr. at Coldwell Banker Forehand & Co. Rick and Ricky grew the commercial division of Forehand into one of the top commercial firms in Central VA and the top Coldwell Banker Commercial franchise in the State of VA. In 2011, Rick and Ricky formed their own company, Coldwell Banker Commercial Read & Co. and relocated their office to Forest, VA, just on the outskirts of Lynchburg. In 2013, Ricky earned the prestigious CCIM designation (Certified Commercial Investment Member) held only by 6% of all commercial real estate practitioners. Ricky has earned Circle of Distinction honors annually through the Coldwell Banker Commercial franchise system. In 2021, Ricky became the sole owner and Principal Broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Read & Co. and the firm continues to grow and make its mark throughout Central VA as one of the top producing Commercial Real Estate companies. In 2024, Ricky earned the CBC Elite/Top 2% Award and was ranked #2 in VA and #44 in the Country among CBC Brokers.
