About Robert

After graduating from Valparaiso University with a BSEE in electrical engineering Bob became involved in a family electronic manufacturing business, Sencore Inc. While working at Sencore he attended various executive level studies offered by the graduate school business at the University of South Dakota as well as Stanford University. Bob decided it was time for a change in the mid 1980’s and sold his interests in the company and moved to Aspen, CO. Bob felt he had found home and became an active member in the community through investing in several local real estate opportunities including a nightclub.

Bob pursued his real estate license and became very successful, brokering large and complex real estate transactions in Aspen. After a while it became clear to Bob his design talents could be utilized in building custom homes. By the mid 90's he had become a general contractor and was building and selling 15,000 sf spec homes to some of the worlds richest and most famous under the flag Bowden Properties. At this point a Bob Bowden Aspen home is something of legend.

With the success of the development side of the business Bob focused his attention on the next piece of the custom home development that he felt needed attention, interior design. This also went exceedingly well and Bob opened the Aspen Design Room in downtown Aspen, offering commercial and residential interior design services and designer home furnishings in one location.

At present Bowden Properties in Aspen has grown to include a home rental division catering to high end clients seeking the luxury vacation rentals and a property management division allowing clients to have one boutique firm handle all their home needs.
