In early 1983 Roby purchased the Merrill L. Thomas, Inc., business and has been its hands-on owner and principal broker ever since. The firm has grown from a staff of 5 to its present status of 25. Merrill L. Thomas, Inc., was the first company in the Adirondack region to establish a full-time vacation rental department. Real estate transactions have grown from $1.5 million in 1983 to over $90 million in 2015. Merrill L. Thomas, Inc., has been ranked #1 in sales volume by the Adirondack Champlain MLS since 2005.
