Rory Benson

Growing up the youngest of 5 boys in Troutville, VA, I learned the art of patience and the importance of family. In “Small Town, USA”, everyone looks out for one another. It’s important to me to live in a place where lending a helping hand is commonplace. I’ve kept my roots growing in the Botetourt area, and currently live here with my wonderful wife, Kristine, and our two children, Jacob and Audrey. One of my favorite ways to relax is standing in front of the grill, making a meal for my family (I’ve been told my BBQ could be famous).

My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me, and I’ve carried that throughout my life, education, and career. Before getting my real estate license, I worked as a Special Education teacher and coach at Lord Botetourt High School for 30 years, and, in tandem, a coach for the Roanoke Steam arena football team for 2 years. I’m still a big football guy, so on Sundays there’s a good chance that you can catch me kicked back watching the Cowboys game.

It’s important to me to be in a profession that fulfills me and connects me with others in the community. Working in real estate is just that, and has allowed me to highlight my strengths and nurture my desire to always be helping others. There’s no better feeling than the one that comes with handing a brand new set of keys to a smiling new homeowner.
