Ryan Young

Ryan Young is an accomplished leader with over two decades of creating value as a business owner, principal investor and asset manager in the real estate finance and development arenas.
In 2001, Mr. Young founded Cal-Pac Companies to focus on providing real estate investors and developers a quick and easy way to get funding for their residential projects throughout California. The Cal-Pac Companies lending business has evolved over the years and expanded into funding commercial and construction loans. Most of these loans are funded directly by private HNW individuals, trusts and family offices and then serviced in-house.
In 2010, Mr. Young began acquiring properties as a principal and gained lots of direct real estate investment experience. He has many successful projects in his portfolio including several projects currently under construction or in pre-development. Many of these investments required Mr. Young to secure land use approvals and building permits and ultimately build homes in challenging jurisdictions like Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Beverly Hills.
In summary, Mr. Young’s expertise includes all aspects of underwriting, structuring, and syndicating commercial & construction loan investments as well as small to mid-size development projects. He has managed numerous real estate deals from start-to-finish including: site identification, partnership structuring, debt/equity placement, contract negotiation, acquisition, coordinating development consultants, obtaining regulatory approvals, managing construction through C/O, and post completion asset management and investor relations. Mr. Young has closed hundreds of real estate and loan transactions in nearly every asset class and has a depth of knowledge in California real estate, lending and foreclosure laws.
Mr. Young lives in Laguna Beach with his wife and two children. He enjoys surfing, skiing, hiking and reading. He is a licensed California real estate broker and a graduate of U.C. Santa Barbara with a degree in Political Science.
