About Sam

Born and educated in San Diego, Sam has spent his entire life in this great City as a businessman and property owner. Sam’s family has been in San Diego for over One Hundred Years. He has had the pleasure of representing many wonderful Individuals and companies in their Commercial Real Estate endeavors. Sam works in all parts of the county doing sales, leasing and consulting. Has extensive knowledge of Imitate Domain procedures, Conditional Use Permit process and Historical building issues.

Sam is a member of the East Village Pre-Design Committee, East Village Government Relations Committee and is a founding member of the East Village Foundation. Sam is a Member of the 2016 Board of Directors for the Goodwill Industries of San Diego and a past Trustee of Saint Augustine High School. Senior Vice President Urban Commercial Real Estate from 2011 to the present. A top tier producer with NAI San Diego 2009 to 2011. Formed a partnership with Ross Provenzano at Award Commercial in 2005 which still continues. Sam was President of Patella and Company Inc. from 1981 to 1996.

In recent years Sam’s focus has been mainly directed to the East Village neighborhood of Downtown San Diego. In 2017 Sam was the only broker involved in the negotiation of deals totaling $84,000,000. He has also leased more than 480,000 square feet in this rapidly growing district. In addition to sales and leasing Sam manages four square blocks of East Village property. Sam was responsible for and was the only Broker involved in the assemblage of property for a project now known as Makers Quarter, a five square block master plan in upper East Village.
