About Sandra
Real estate is in Sandy’s DNA. For generations, her family has listed, owned, and managed properties from Clearwater Beach to St Pete Beach, Florida. A few years ago, Sandy retired from her first career and returned to her family’s beach realty business to support her mother, Pat Plumlee, and her brother, Todd, with the successful real estate business started by Pat in 1990. Sandy and her husband, Rob, already have years of real estate experience owning beach rental condos up and down the beach. Through this experience, Sandy has become a local beach property expert in her own right. She knows firsthand what to expect when you’re the buyer, owner, or condo board director.
She’s happy to be back permanently now. For years, while she supported her husband’s military career as a senior officer, she and her family owned beach properties and enjoyed seasonal beach vacations. In between visits she also came to appreciate the passive rental income the properties produced. Today, she is helping others find and own their slice of paradise.
Sandy is a military spouse and mother of two grown sons, John, and Jimmy. They have both launched their own successful individual careers in different parts of the country. In her first career, Sandy completed a successful 30-year career as a teacher and remains attached to Kansas State University as an instructor of curriculum and instruction.
Sandy’s grandfather, Jack Collins, moved the family from Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY, to Clearwater, FL, and partnered with a former pro-baseball acquaintance turned contractor to build the Sands Point Motel on Clearwater Beach. Sandy’s mother, Pat Plumlee, obtained her Florida real estate license shortly after college and placed it with her parent’s real estate company, Jack Collins Realty.
Around 1990, Sandy’s father, Ernie, partnered with a local attorney to purchase the current sales office property. They knew it would be the perfect “law and real estate office.” That certainly turned out to be true. Pat, and now with Todd’s help, have grown the business substantially over the last 25 years. Sandy jumped on the opportunity to return to the family business in Indian Rocks Beach when her husband retired from the Army a few years ago.
