This was our fourth transaction with Scott Sachs (2 sales, 1 purchase, and 1 referral) and I recommend him and his team without hesitation. I have known him for 11 years. Scott relies on data to inform his recommendations and explains the data in a way that is understandable. Even after he helped with selling us an investment property, he was always willing to offer advice if I called him throughout the years. We recently moved out of the DMV, so Scott and his team had to handle all of the details involved with two sales including everything from getting bids and overseeing minor repairs to pulling weeds himself when our landscaper didn't show up :( The transactions felt seamless. He is great at what he does and is passionate about it. He is easy to work with as well and will offer real advice when asked, especially what he would do in your situation. Scott Sachs and his group are excellent.  Our house offered advantages that normally aren’t found in similar neighborhoods. This made our house unique and attractive..for the “right” buyer. On the other hand, it lacked some features that many people are looking for. Scott saw clearly the advantages, and effectively presented the property in that light. The pictures were published in exquisite detail, including from drones, that really showed off the property. His descriptions highlighted compellingly the advantages of living there.  He explained what his plan was from the beginning, and he delivered on what he promised. He priced the house skillfully and we received a great offer in a short amount of time. He negotiated effectively for the best conditions.  In addition, I appreciated his guidance on preparing the house without overspending on items that would not enhance its market value. I consider myself lucky for having had Scott as my selling agent, and I would recommend to him to anyone, particularly for houses that are unique and require a little bit more insight and experience..

We have dealt with Scott Sachs for the purchase of two homes in the DMV area and I cannot say enough good things about him. The first home was a condo we were purchasing with our daughter and Scott navigated the competing concerns and interests of an almost 30-year-old (who was going to live in the condo) and her parents (who were helping with the money end) with diplomacy and skill, finding a place that satisfied everybody. Then, when my husband and I decided to purchase a place in DMV, Scott patiently helped us through a 2+ year search as we tried to figure out what we wanted and where we wanted to be. The place we ultimately purchased was one we were reluctant to see but he said was worth looking at and he was right. In both instances he gently encouraged us toward properties that were the soundest long-term choices. In the DC market, as crazy as it is right now, it's hard to come out the winner in bidding wars. Not only did we get the home we wanted, but Scott counseled us to offer substantially less than we were willing to pay for it. We didn't want to lose the home, but it turns out that his strategy was genius. He ended up both winning the house for us and saving us hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process, even in this crazy market. He could have banked a larger fee if he had encouraged us to offer what we were willing to pay, but that obviously wasn't his motivation; he was working for what was in our best interest. The long version:

Scott Sachs is a freaking national treasure. I'm erecting a small monument to him in my gorgeous backyard in my new home.

My wife and I first worked with Scott 8 years ago, when he got us into an under priced condo in upper NW DC. To be clear, it was a giant dump - but we saw Scott's vision for what it could be. He is a renovation swami. Lo and behold, 6 months and several contractors later it was a beautiful and affordable home, that ultimately almost doubled in value during our 7 years living there.

As our family grew, we became ready to sell and partnered once again with Scott, who somehow managed to look younger and sharper than when we first met him.

Scott generated a ridiculous amount of interest in our home. We were are Redfin "hot home" within like one hour of posting.

The night before our big open house, I went home to straighten the artwork. Walked in, heard my fire alarms, smelled smoke, and discovered a small fire in our attic. Called 911 first, my wife second, and Scott third. The fire fighters came and addressed the fire by spraying my entire house with hundreds of gallons of water, which managed to destroy all the floors and walls.

I called Scott dumbfounded and sobbing. He dropped what he was doing and was the first one on the scene after the fire fighters left, mopping up water with towels, getting on the phone with fire damage remediation companies, and literally giving my wife a shoulder to cry on.

A short and somewhat painful 2 months later, the house was completely fixed and sold for above ask. Was it a miracle? No. It was Scott Freaking Sachs.

He went so far above and beyond the call of duty and has remained by our side as we get settled into our new home.

Consider yourself lucky if you sign with Scott and his team. We sure were.

Working with Compass, we sold our townhouse on Capitol Hill in D.C. this last March. I can't stress enough how impressed we were by Compass, and specifically, Scott Sachs, and his team's approach, expertise, patience and attitude in securing and facilitating a sale that had some red-tape difficulties and unexpected delays attached to it.

We were also greatly relieved and pleased with the company's responsiveness. If a call or text was not answered at once, in person, it was returned within less than an hour, typically, a real boon in a situation that is always fraught with anxiety and stress for a seller or buyer. Scott's calm and understanding professionalism saved the day more than once. Further, Scott wisely started the asking price at a very attractive number for both buyer and seller, and then, with his impressive knowledge of the market and instinct for buyer credibility, was able to fetch a price well above and beyond the initial ask, from a reliable, problem-free buyer. (There were, in fact, more than six above-ask offers inside of four days from the Open House.)

Compass' use of all modern technologies was applied to their selling strategy, producing seamless communication with all parties concerned, as well as a stunning online virtual presentation of the house, so beautifully staged by a Compass associate company, at a very fair price.

Finally, the entire Compass team exhibited great common sense, empathy, honesty and humor throughout the transaction. We had a few very tense weeks dealing with the aforementioned administrative hassles, and Scott's team got us through. If you are looking for a real estate agent in the DC-area who is savvy, accessible and willing to go the extra mile, Scott Sachs is your man. My family has worked with Scott Sachs on five real estate purchase and sale transactions over the past 13 years and I have recommended him to dozens of friends (who also rave about him). Scott really gets to know you and your preferences, takes initiative and is always available to talk when you need him. And most importantly, we genuinely trust him and value his advice.

We recently sold a home "remotely" during the pandemic, and Scott and his team were exceptional. They handled everything without us needing to return to the property--all contractors and touch-up work, staging furniture, showings, etc.--and most importantly we ended up selling the home at a price we were very happy with!

That's just one example of how Scott goes above and beyond. Several years ago we were considering purchasing a home a bit farther outside of the DC area and Scott was always able to either get us access to a property or drive much further than usual to meet us there.

Over the past decade-plus, Scott has really honed his craft. He has a great eye for spotting potential issues and has a solid network of contractors and service providers who can ballpark how much something might cost to fix. He is a great negotiator and all-around nice and fun person to work with. He'll get the job done and make it as pleasant of an experience as possible!

We found Daniel to be intimately familiar with the neighborhoods we were looking to buy in. He was able to speak at ease about local restaurants, parks, infrastructure, schools, etc. There seemingly wasn't any question he couldn't answer - most he could answer immediately on the spot. While giving us some latitude to see properties above (and below) our target budget, we found that he was always accurate in predicting selling price and was able to gently situate us where we needed to be in the market. His schedule was flexible and he was always on time.

I highly, highly recommend that you work with Scott Sachs as your agent if you are in the hunt for a new home. Scott is friendly and personable. He's professional and extremely knowledgeable about the DMV area; he's not pushy and is always honest, he'll look out for your best interest and is an excellent negotiator. Scott is patient and willing to put in the work needed for the house hunting journey which can be frustrating, long and difficult, especially in the DMV. During our interview with Scott, we mentioned that diversity was very important to us, and he was not only respectful of that but was familiar with the areas that met our requirements. No matter your background, Scott will be able to find you a home that meets your comfort level and the vision you have for you and your family.

A quick example of how accommodating Scott is for his clients: When we finally settled on a new home, we wanted to purchase furniture ahead of time so that it would be delivered around the time we moved in but we didn't have any floor plans and couldn't get them from the county yet since we weren't officially the owners (closing wasn’t for another couple of weeks or so). We made an appointment with Scott to visit the home again so that we could record the measurements we needed. By time we got to the house, Scott was already there and actually taking the time to measure and draw out the floor plans all on his own, for us, by hand. We were surprised and very grateful.

As first time homebuyers we were very happy with the high levels of responsiveness and his ability to quickly resolve all of our requests and questions. Our Washington, DC Realtor, Scott Sachs of the Synergy Group was recommended through our condo management company. I needed someone I could totally trust because the condo was in DC, we live in Maine and the pandemic was raging so travel was restricted. I also needed someone who would return calls and keep me updated on the property. Scott was the perfect Realtor for us. As soon as we signed the contract, he took charge! He oversaw repairs and maintenance on the property, had it professionally cleaned and painted and hired and oversaw staging operations. Finally, he had professional photos taken. When ready, the condo looked fantastic and I joked I was having second thoughts about selling. His online postings were beautiful and received many views. Scott collected and used metrics to gauge the market and even obtained feedback from those who actually viewed the condo in person. The property sold at an excellent price and the cash was in my account the day of closing. There is no doubt the reason the property sold at such a high price was Scott and his very able and friendly Operations Manager, Kristen. They literally did all the work and were wonderful! We hired Daniel Schuler to sell our small apartment in Washington DC. Of all the real estate agents we interviewed, Daniel is certainly the most experienced and has completely understood our needs from the start. I knew Daniel from a few different friends who have used him through the house buying and selling process. I gave a pretty broad idea of what I was looking for within a location and he was able to run with it! He got me all set up and always made time to discuss options as well as seeing different properties. Was able to find a house fairly quickly and with Daniels help beat out three other offers without having to play back and forth just from the fact that he came so prepared with what it would take to get which was a big priority of mine. 30 days from acceptance to close and him and Kristin took care of everything and I never had one single issue. For our most recent home sale, he was even out in the mid-Summer weather, in dress clothes, helping us lay mulch before the listing pictures were taken. My wife and I were purchasing our first home and decided to use Scott to help us with this process. We couldn't have been more happy or pleased with that choice. The fact that my wife and I were new to this whole home buying process made us both a bit nervous and unsure of all the terms and overall process, but Scott helped us completely feeling comfortable with this whole process. Scott is an amazing realtor. I have had the pleasure of working with him as a buyer twice now and he goes above and beyond. In the first deal, he did a lot of work helping locate the right house and advising through the offer. Daniel is hands down the best realtor I have ever worked with.....and this is saying a lot since I am retired military and have bought and sold (way too) many houses and done 20+ moves over the past 30 years. He knows and continually assesses the market, listens to his customer, is whip smart on the finance options, and is a superb negotiator. Because of Daniel, we were perfectly positioned with the RIGHT escalation approach, which was a fleeting Goldilocks moment: not too much, not too little, but JUST right! We would not have gotten the house had we been working with someone else. On top of that, he can assess upgrade/repair costs like a general contractor, which is enormously helpful for post-contract budget planning. Going with Daniel as your realtor is s slam-dunk. It's hard to know where to start with praise when it comes to my home buying/selling experience with Daniel Schuler. I am lucky enough to have worked with him for 2 home purchases (including my first family home) and one home sale and could not be happier with how smooth he made these processes. Daniel is able to wear so many different hats and provide litany of valuable advice based on both his experience as a professional, but also a homeowner himself. Whether it was a question about home loans, interior design, home inspection, or renovation, Daniel always had an educated and knowledgeable answer. He made himself available to me and my wife seemingly 24/7 to answer any question, no matter how small, and in an extremely competitive housing market in the DMV area Daniel was always willing to make time to help us see a home even on the shortest of notice. I would be remiss if I also did not add that during the exceedingly unsettling COVID 19 pandemic, one in which we were trying to navigate a move with our 2 year old, Daniel provided a stable, comforting hand. We simply could not have pulled it off without him. When it comes down to it, every path Daniel has guided us down and recommendation he has made for us when it comes to real estate has ended up paying off in spades for my family over the course of our 5-year relationship.
