Shari grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and began her working years at Strategic Air Command Headquarters and moved to California when she was twenty. Her first job in CA was at Lockheed Missiles & Space Center in Sunnyvale as Assistant to the Director of the Microelectronics Division. That is when silicon chips were new, and she was seated right next to the Space Shuttle Division – a very fun time. Shari lived in Palo Alto, and she moved on to Ampex Corporation in Redwood City as Personal Assistant to the Founder and Chairman Emeritus. Then she learned about commuting and worked in San Francisco with Boyden international executive recruiters and finally with Bryan & Edwards, independent entrepreneurs.
Shari raised her family in Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, in the East Bay during which time she owned her own computer outsource business. When that industry had a downturn, she turned back to her legal experience and worked at Chevron Texaco in San Ramon as a Litigation Analyst in the international law group. She truly grew into being a Realtor through her work experiences. Some of the skills she honed are negotiation skills, managing people and projects, task, and timeline organization, communicating clearly with people, analyzing data, and working with attorneys. Shari loves being a Realtor!
She moved to Lincoln in 2004, her first year as a realtor, and she has been a Top Producer since 2005! She is now an Outstanding Lifetime Member of the Placer County Association of Realtors’ Master’s Club. This is a distinction of being in the top 10 to 15% of Realtors in the County. Shari knows that her independent work experience along with the legal experience she had helped prepare her for her current career – her favorite of all! Shari’s daughter, Jenna, really gets the credit for that. At one time she was a Realtor in Walnut Creek and insisted she consider this wonderful career when they made the move. She is so glad she listened to her!
On the personal side, Jenna moved out this way as well and eventually pursued a new career for herself. She was recently promoted to Chief Deputy of the Federal Court in Sacramento, and Shari is very proud of her. Additionally, Shari is so pleased that she and her family live very close by in Roseville, especially because now she has four beautiful and wonderful grandchildren who she adores seeing often. Another wonderful stroke of luck is that her son-in-law, Erik Nelson, who has an accomplished professional background himself, recently decided to join Shari as her Partner. She is so fortunate! The McGrail Team always had a bank of accomplished people supporting her, but now the Team has Two Realtors to better serve their clients!! Go, Team!!
Besides loving the real estate business, Shari truly loves her life here in Lincoln Hills. She still enjoys long-time friendships of people in the East Bay, but her life in Lincoln has been blessed with the addition of many, many new and wonderful friends. Lincoln Hills has proved to be an outstanding place to live, abound with activities that keep growing and improving, a gorgeous setting to enjoy, and fantastic people to enjoy it with.
