About Sheldon
Meet Sheldon Lesire, one of our wonderful agents at BST Realty LLC! Sheldon uses his knowledge of home loans and background as an educator in his real estate expertise. Growing up, Sheldon would hear his dad talk about his work in home loans. Later on, Sheldon started working with kids in Junior High at Eugene Field, and realized he loved working in education.
Sheldon’s career path veered in the direction of education. He learned while going to college that 80% or more of youth sent to juvenile detention centers may qualify to be in special education. From that point on, Sheldon sought out to make sure students were getting the support they needed so they would be more likely to succeed in life. That’s why he chose the professional path of special education.
Sheldon eventually bought a home in Silverton and no other than Dixon Bledsoe was his real estate broker. Dixon noticed how Sheldon’s background was so perfect for real estate, that he asked him to come on board! Sheldon thought about it, and realized it was aligned with what he was doing in life and moved toward becoming a real estate broker. When asked how Sheldon thinks his professional background in education aligns with real estate, he said, “It’s all about people and being able to explain fairly complicated concepts. It’s also really important to be connected to the community and have a problem solver’s attitude.” With real estate, sometimes things don’t go as they’re anticipated, however Sheldon says that’s just a part of it, “We can’t just throw our hands up and it’s done. We’ve got to be creative and tackle things one by one.”
Since March, there have also been some changes with how education and real estate are conducted. Sheldon works for Silver Crest School, a part of the Silver Falls School District. He noticed more growing pains with the school system in general, because some students benefit much more with in-person classes. The good news is that there have been some changes in fall to accommodate for students who really need that in-person teaching experience.
Sheldon also noticed that real estate seemed very well suited for an online platform and has adjusted well. Some of the most rewarding things about both real estate and teaching are when he sees someone get that look on their face that shows, “I’ve got it!” Sheldon reflects on how it’s, “the best thing in the world,” when a person he’s working with achieves their goal.
At BST Realty LLC, we are proud to have Sheldon on board as well as our many stellar agents. We are a proud affiliate of Homes for Heroes, and teachers are just one of the groups of essential workers who may qualify for this home program! As we have discovered with Sheldon, we have agents that are multi-faceted with a lot of valuable experience to offer when working with their clients. We’re here to help you in the buying and selling of your home, and to make the process as seamless as possible. Give us a ring, and let’s start talking about how to make that happen!
