About Shelley

Shelly Schudel was raised in Virginia Beach & vacationed in the Outer Banks/Coastal Carolina area and has called this area home since the age of 9. Shelly's parents relocated their family to the area from Oklahoma City, OK where Shelly's father's family is from. As a result of her Oklahoma roots Shelly's a HUGE Oklahoma Sooners fan "Go Big Red/BoomerSooner" as well as a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan! Not an easy "cross to bear" having lived in Redskin territory for so long! In real estate, growing up locally has served Shelly well as she's quite familiar with Southeast Virginia down through coastal North Carolina. Shelly believes these are excellent areas to live as there is such diversity & endless options for entertainment, recreation & fun! Shelly has enjoyed calling this home and is actively raising 2 of her 3 beautiful children here. Shelly's the proud mother of Bryce, her son currently attending college in Minnesota & twin daughters, Chloe & Mila, who are currently attending elementary school locally. Shelly often wonders, where has all the time gone?! Shelly's father was in the military and she was married to a Navy Master Diver. She continues to be a big part of the Navy diving community, DEEP SEA! Shelly can relate & is all too familiar with the high's & low's, pro's & con's of the military life and moving. This understanding has equipped Shelly to serve military personnel & their family's well. Understanding the wants & needs of her clients is important and when it comes to military life she understands the struggle is real!

In day to day life Shelly thoroughly enjoys music, especially live music & loves to dance! She actively plays tennis, loves to read (*mainly self help/entrepreneurial books) & believes you should never stop seeking knowledge! Shelly calls the Va Beach oceanfront home where she loves riding her beach cruiser, walking the boardwalk & eating at local eateries. Lazy days @ the Bay or volleyball at the North End also rank high on her summer "to do" list. There's never a dull moment! Travelling is also a BIG must have although Shelly's a textbook/certifiable workaholic! She love, love, looooves what she does!! Even on vacations she often be found working in the hotel business center, poolside or on the beach!

Shelly started in real estate as an investor in 2007 while simultaneously attending the Psychology program at Regent University. In Shelly's search for investment opportunities she quickly realized in order to not miss a good deal she had to be on top of the process & strike while the iron was hot. Shelly decided to put her academics on hold, obtain her real estate license in Virginia and North Carolina in 2009 then place her focus full time on real estate. Knowing the area well & quickly becoming well versed in real estate investing Shelly was able to acquire a sizeable real estate investment portfolio in a short period of time. Shelly acquired properties in all of the local seven cities & picked up investments ranging from townhouses, to single family homes to small apartment buildings. Eventually Shelly held the investments she sought to hold & thought it was time to return to Psychology. However, she had absolutely fallen in love with real estate (& that feeling still actively exists today!) Shelly quickly switched gears & began representing buyers & sellers for the purchase/sale of Residential homes & has been a top producer since her 1st full year.
