Originally from Philadelphia, Steven attended Penn State University, where he was an active member of Beta Sigma Beta Fraternity and the Collegian College Newspaper. During the '90s, Steven lived overseas for seven years in Israel, South Africa, and Australia, where he was involved in developing an international nonprofit. His deep involvement in his communities and travel have fostered long-standing relationships worldwide.

Steven shares his Upper West Side and East Hampton homes with his partner and daughters. They live a whole, active life and love to travel and spend time with family and friends. He is involved in several charities and is currently a member of the Board of the Marlene Meyerson JCC of Manhattan, a Founding Member of South Africa's Tomorrow Trust, and serves on the board of Penn State Hillel.
