He has always been readily available and very responsive to any questions or inquiries we had when working with him. Steve is extremely knowledgeable about properties and market trends at Deep Creek Lake. He is our GO TO GUY! We wouldn’t think of working with anyone else!

Steve was fabulous to work with! We've dealt with other realtors in the past and Steve was by far the best. We purchased a property 3 hours from our primary residence and had numerous questions and needed a lot of information. Steve and Chris sent us tons of details about each property which allowed us to make informed decisions. They also showed properties to us via FaceTime which was a huge help and kept our house-hunt flexible. If we purchase in the Deep Creek area again, we will absolutely contact Steve Ritchie!

We can’t say enough good things about Steve and his wife, Chris Ritchie. They worked tirelessly to help find our perfect lakefront home. Steve was available 24/7. He answered every phone call and responded to each email with thoughtful detail. Steve does much more than selling property, he makes dreams come true.
It was around 1991 or 1992 when we started looking with Steve for a lake home. Off & on thru the years we looked sporadically as “life happened”. And then year 28 we found our dream house with Steve’s help! Thanks, Steve (& Chris too) for your hard work. You were always kind, pleasant, accommodating and the consummate professional! Steve truly acted as an advocate for me, which I needed as a first-time home buyer with no idea how the whole process really worked. He took the time to answer any question I had and took my questions seriously - and I had so many. His knowledge of what should and shouldn't be when looking for a home was invaluable, and he was willing to point out things I would not have thought to look at myself and kept me focused on doing the right thing by myself instead of just getting carried away by the excitement. His wife Chris was his professional partner and gave a practiced, listening ear to balance the whole process out. If he wasn't right there, she was. They kept me informed and educated through the whole process and made sure I understand everything going on. I know they had many other buyers to deal with but they made sure that I never felt like I was doing this alone. When I make my next purchase of land or a house, I will call Steve and Chris at Railey first. Thank you, Steve and Chris!

Buying this home was the biggest decision of my life.
Steve has 30 years of experience as a realtor in Deep Creek. He grew up here and knows the lake like the back of his hand.

We looked all summer for a place on the lake. We gave Steve a list of homes we were interested in seeing (most times the night before) he was always prepared the next day, with a packet of details on each house. Steve always returned my emails and calls in minutes. Steve was on time, professional, knew the most efficient order to view homes and had keys and access to every property we requested. We gave him a list of what we were looking for, and he suggested many great options.

We looked at the property that was listed five days before. We went back the next day (also looked at eight other homes) and went back at the end of the day to see it again. We made an offer. There was a counteroffer, we accepted.

Steve advised me and was there every step of the way - through home inspections, repair requests, recommendations of who to call. Steve made the process easy. I felt like I was in good hands. Steve answered all my questions - no matter how many times I had already asked the same question. I had no idea what I was doing, so many details. Steve kept me straight, with confidence and knowledge that took years of experience to acquire.
Closing was fast and smooth, and Steve had my back through the whole process. I was lucky to have his guidance. Steve made me feel like a friend – not just someone he was doing business with.
I would recommend Steve Ritchie to anyone looking to buy or sell a home!

Steve has helped my wife and I with several transactions over the past decade. There's no one we trust more. Most recently, he helped us sell our home near Wisp for full list price and we went under contract within two weeks. I'm a nervous Nellie every time we buy or sell, but this was undoubtedly the smoothest transaction we've ever had. Steve is very much in tune with the Deep Creek market and our faith in his judgment and advice were rewarded. I recommend Steve to anyone who needs help in the DCL area, buying or selling.

Steve and wife Chris are the consummate real estate professionals. Every encounter I had with them affirmed the fact that they are seasoned, thorough and honest people.

Although I oftened changed requests to view properties, they quickly resourced the changes I asked for, and were willing to meet quickly.

When it came to preparation for buying, a market analysis and lots of backup information on HOA and county documents made the process seamless.

I would recommend the Ritchies to any buyer!

Steve Ricthie is by far the best realtor there is. He grew up in Garrett County and has many years of realty experience. So he's the one to go to for knowledge of the area and the one to go to for the ins and outs of real estate. What I appreciated the most was his honesty. He really cared about me and my family and what we wanted but always told us the truth about possible issues. We weren't just a customer to him. He treated us like family.
