Steven Shepard

Steve has a unique combination of expertise, having both extensive and diverse commercial real estate transaction and construction experience, combined with Wall Street executive-level capital markets expertise.

He was the President/ CEO of Atlanta based Shepard & Company, a commercial real estate company providing acquisition, disposition, build-to-suit development, and transaction services to corporate clients across the Southeast. A representative project for Shepard was the handling of every facet of the design-build of a 250,000 square foot office building for GE Capital in Atlanta. Before founding Shepard & Co., Steve was Managing Director of the office properties group for Grubb & Ellis in Atlanta, then the third largest national real estate brokerage firm, where he was the sixth highest producer nationally out of 1,400 commercial agents. As head of the institutional agency business, he managed the renovation, re-positioning, marketing and leasing of two of Atlanta’s largest office complexes, Tower Place and Northcreek Office Park.

In addition to his real estate experience, as Managing Director of Wells Fargo Securities in New York, Shepard has extensive capital markets experience, having participated in capital raises for a broad spectrum of companies, including office, industrial, apartment, storage, medical, and mortgage REITs. Steve is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, from which he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Mgmt. He served for six years as a fighter pilot in United States Air Forces Europe and Tactical Air Command, and was Squadron Top-Gun. He is originally from Thomaston, Georgia and has resided in Biltmore Forest since 2018.
