Susan McFarland is a Rock Star! She is professional, knowledgeable, honest, and customer-focused. Our circumstance was special. We had no intentions of moving, but then came across an opportunity to buy into a neighborhood we have always wanted to live. We had to move fast and aggressively to ensure that our offer was competitive. Susan helped us prepare in advance all the items needed so we could make our offer the day the property went on the market. She knows when to push and pull back. She advised us all the way and made sure we were comfortable in our offering position...and our offer was accepted! She then helped us prepare to sell our current property. She was intuitive and strategic in pricing our property to sell quickly and making it desirable, and we sold our property in three days! Susan made the whole buying and selling process so easy for us, especially since this was a very unplanned situation for us! She has a whole network of professionals that can help with everything from mortgages to staging your home to putting down new flooring! Needless to say our stress level was at a ten, but she made every step of the way easy and she was always accessible to us. Though this should be a given, we felt Susan always had our best interest at heart. We will always be thankful for Susan's help and we cannot recommend her enough!

Each time we don’t hesitate to call Susan because she’s experienced, professional, honest, very responsive, her attention to detail is unmatched and overall, a pleasure to work with. I've worked with Susan twice now after she was recommended by friends, once to sell a home, and once to buy our current home. She's been great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated, she helped walk us through the process. We were able to get more than expected on the sale, and between her and the very thorough home inspector we were able to get significant seller assistance on our purchase despite a very competitive market. Hopefully we won't be moving anytime soon but if we do I'll definitely call Susan first.

We had such a wonderful experience with Susan! She was extremely knowledgeable and always available to us if we had any questions or concerns. It took us a while to find the right home for our family but she never made us feel rushed or pressured and was very encouraging when we felt we would never find “the one” We would strongly and happily encourage using her as your agent. Susan an extremely professional, experienced, knowledgable, and honest realtor. She always ensures your budget, needs, & best interest are the top priority. I have used her expertise for three house buy/sells and even a rental. She never wastes our time with houses that wouldn’t pass her standards. She genuinely cares for your family and their safety concerning home inspections, school districts, neighborhood crime, & house conditions. She always keeps you up to date on the status of your closings & offers. Clearly explains all the of paperwork, legalities, and process. Buying/selling a house can be one of the most stressful and expensive times and Susan makes the entire process extremely manageable.
Susan is incredibly flexible and was able to manage all of the important aspects even when we were states away! From house showings, staging, home inspections, rental management, well water issues, termite inspections, closings, and more. I would highly recommend her business! Susan will be my realtor again and again!

What a fantastic experience selling a home with Susan McFarland. Susan was professional but compassionate. This was my childhood home I was selling after my parents passed away and she realized that it was not only a house, but the closing of a chapter of my life. Susan guided me through the whole processes with grace. She was experienced in pricing, marketing and closing. She went the extra distance in expert pictures and included the drone. It was the little touches and detail that sold our house in a weekend. I realize it is a sellers market right now, but her marketing strategies made the house extremely desirable. We were tremendously happy with her knowledge and vetting the offers we received before even asking us to consider what contract to take.

I would recommend her to anyone buying or selling a house she was fabulous.

If you’re looking for a realtor in the DC area (Maryland, too)... you’ve found her!
We loved working with Susan so much, we did it twice!
We moved to MD for work and had an idea of what we were looking for. Susan helped us realize that we could do so much better. Her honesty kept us from settling on homes that didn’t fit. I can say we actually had the “Oh guys, this isn’t right for you” talk at more that one viewing. (She was right).
She’s not going to help you buy a house just to boost her numbers. She’s going to help you find a HOME. She worked with us over MONTHS of visits to search and bless her, we saw sooo many places.
She was there with us every step of the way and explained everything (we had a lot of questions) with the buying process.
We were so impressed that when we found out we were moving, we called her right up and asked for her help again.

So if you’re looking to sell... congrats, you can stop scrolling too!

She works with you and having been at this for a while, she’s got a great crew to call in to help you feel comfortable and confident in your home.

Susan was simply superb in every category.
I clicked a link on Trulia to set up a showing for a home out of our area. Honestly, I can't believe how lucky we were that Susan was the one who responded.
We had a rather complicated negotiation and purchase. I can't imagine what this would have been like with someone who wasn't as experienced, knowledgeable, and professional as Susan. She knows her business inside and out. In addition she was utterly calm as she guided us through a complicated process. Her dry sense of humor was an added bonus. We loved working with her, would definitely recommend, and certainly use again.

Susan McFarland stands apart from the realtors we've met with during our housing search in the Columbia region. She was very valuable to us for her deep understanding of the housing market, her insights on the physical condition of a house, and the way she presented them to us.

Most realtors will simply let you into a house and point out some obvious nice qualities. Many won't even bring the house specs and when asked will know next to nothing about it. Not Susan! She always comes prepared and has an excellent eye for identifying which parts of a home may need repair or attention and can give rough estimates for those costs. It was very reassuring to have someone as perceptive and easy to talk to helping us analyze a property.

Susan has an excellent disposition, and took her time with us even though we had so many questions for her. She never made us feel rushed and was always available either immediately or within the same day. Susan is an outstanding realtor and we are truly thankful to her for helping us find our lovely home.
