Tamara is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Asheville since 2000. Her family has been involved in the real estate industry since the 1970's, and she’s gained much of her knowledge around the kitchen table. She earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing. Having a love of the mountains, she moved to Boulder Colorado after college and worked as a charge nurse, cardiac nurse, cardiac rehab nurse. She served in various leadership roles throughout her career as an RN. While living in Boulder, she enjoyed hiking, backpacking, downhill and backcountry skiing, rock climbing and traveling. At a certain point, she decided it was time to return to her roots. Like many others, she found that Asheville provided the perfect balance of living in the south with four full seasons, an active mountain lifestyle, a vibrant downtown offering arts and culture and world class restaurants. She lives with her husband, Mike, who is a licensed general contractor. She is an alumni of the Colorado Outward Bound School from 1983, and she serves on the Advisory Board of the North Carolina Outward Bound School. Their focus is raising funds for kids to go on Outward Bound who otherwise cannot afford the program. Other experience includes serving on the Beverly-Hanks Agent Advisory Committee and Asheville Board of Realtors. Her other interests are design and renovation, building, music, entertaining, hiking, travel and being a tourist in her hometown of Asheville.
