Taylor is a long time Tahoe local, a retired 30 year teacher, dad, husband and a member of two NCAA National Championship teams.
During his athletic career at Princeton University, Taylor earned All-America, All-Ivy and Scholar All-America honors. He also received the Higginbotham Award, which is given “annually to that member of the Princeton varsity lacrosse team who by outstanding play, distinguished sportsmanship and gentlemanly influence has best exemplified the qualities of John Edwards Higginbotham ’39, captain of the varsity lacrosse team.” Taylor continued to play competitively after college for two professional leagues as well as for the German National Team, with whom he won the European Championships and represented his country of birth in the World Lacrosse Games.
Like many people who now live in Tahoe, Taylor visited on a road trip, immediately fell in love and dreamt of living here. When he received his graduate degree in education from Brown University, nearly a decade later, he returned to the West and landed his “dream” teaching job in Tahoe and never left. As an educator, Taylor worked in the best interests of students for 30 years. For the last 15 years of his career, Taylor served as a co-founder, teacher and leader for a new Pk-12th grade school in Tahoe/Truckee that uses adventure to build character and bring learning to life.
Today, he uses those same traits he honed in athletics and education to help you realize your real estate goals as a member of two full service teams, Carr Long Real Estate for clients in California and Coldwell Banker Select for clients in Nevada. Each team has a track record of results and is composed of leadership and realtors who are dedicated to excellence.
Taylor married a Northern California girl, who grew up visiting Tahoe often and also dreamt of living here, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in 2013. Together, they have owned multiple homes in the area and are happily raising two boys, two dogs and a cat on a rural acreage property north of Truckee. All of them enjoy the adventurous spirits who live here, the spirit of the West and the incredible activities that abound.
