About Thomas
Tom and Dawn Lopez have been married for over 32 years. They raised 4 children while living in Elk Grove then Rancho Murieta; much later they built a home in Sutter Creek. All of their children are products of both public and private school education; each possessing a degree and/or licensee. They have welcomed their 4 spouses and 7 grandchildren, making their family truly blessed. Given their desire to be closer to their family, they returned this past year and now reside in an Active Adult Community in El Dorado Hills. They couldn’t be happier!
Tom is a native of Sacramento, and Dawn, born in Santa Monica, has called the Sacramento Valley home since 1979. They would like to welcome all new and potentially new Northern Californians to our great state! Please use their expertise as we show you the many wonderful sides of our diverse and cultured city. While our city bustles, it’s never lost the small town feeling.
As Tom grew up in Tahoe Park and attended All Hallows Elementary School, he’s very proud to see this more affordable East Sacramento area continue to be a real estate jewel. Moving into Fair Oaks, Tom cherished his years as a Marauder at Jesuit High School. Homes near Jesuit in the American River and Arden Park area continue to be one of the hot tickets on a home tour.
When Dawn’s family moved from Thousand Oaks, they first lived in Roseville, which was a small town with a train yard and Denio’s Farmer’s Market & Auction. Roseville now boasts great schools, one of the best shopping areas of the valley and a population of over 118,000, not counting Rocklin (pop. 56k+) or Granite Bay (pop. 20k+). When Dawn’s family moved to Citrus Heights, she attended San Juan High School and then graduated from La Vista in Orangevale. Back in the 80’s, Orangevale was a small community of large, rural parcels of land. Today’s Orangevale has seen it’s share of growth, but most areas continue to have good size lots with trees and mature foilage, many with extrememly large homes, and, in fact, some still zoned as “horse property”, if you can believe it!
After receiving a Political Science degree at the University of San Francisco, Tom began working for Pacific Bell for the summer before starting Law School. He loved working outside, so his law degree was put on hold. Fast forward 25 years, he decided to retire from Pac Bell and change careers. Tom returned to school and received his California Real Estate License. For the first few years, he focused on home loans and refinancing. After referring many Real Estate transactions to other agents, Tom choose to immerse himself in that side of the business. Not only was this decision more lucrative, he found that having more control over the many facets of a home transaction can be a big relief with regards to the time constraints!
After working for over 25 years for the Elk Grove Unified School District, Dawn decided to join Tom. She received her California Real Estate License and is “all in”! This is the best of both worlds, Tom’s knowledge and Dawn’s enthusiasm! Tom’s been representing buyers and sellers for over 17 years years, now, and he works entirely from referrals from previous clients. Dawn on the other hand is fresh, new and very competitive. Together, they are a great team! No doubt, the road to success will continue to be paved by honesty, hard work and Christian values.
