After more than 30 years in luxury retail, Tom Abrams joined Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, representing the greater Atlanta area. Tom recently acquired his Broker Associate license and is also a 2019 and 2020 Top Performer, Company-Wide.
As a senior executive accomplished in fashion buying, design, marketing and strategic planning for such prominent retailers as Brooks Brothers, Bloomingdale’s and, most recently, Neiman Marcus, Tom is well-equipped to achieve results, and he is thrilled to begin working in his secret passion: residential real estate!
'I have had furniture and home furnishings under my umbrella for the majority of my career,' said Tom. Like many of us in the fashion industry, we begin to see a progression from fashion apparel to home décor, and that leads directly into a passion for residential and commercial properties.'
Having attended the well-respected Brooklyn Technical High School in New York City, Tom began intensive training in areas, such as technical drafting and blueprinting, and has carried that love of structural design with him throughout his career. 'Laying out 300,000 square feet of floor space in today’s modern retail environments gives me a unique eye for space and proportion.'
Tom eventually went on to Tulane University in New Orleans, which solidified his strong connection to the South. In 2003, he was appointed vice president and general manager of his team, leading the introduction of Bloomingdale’s to the Atlanta market. His time at Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus afforded Tom his platform for community involvement. Tom has since been a pillar of the community, and in 2017, he and his partner, Britt Wood, of Britt Wood Designs LLC, were featured in Atlanta Magazine for their extensive community and philanthropic efforts.
'Giving back, whether individually or together, brings us closer as a couple,' said Tom. 'Britt is a renowned floral designer specializing in high-profile weddings and events and has just launched an exciting new Bridal Salon located at Peachtree Point in Midtown. People jokingly call us a power couple, so, rest assured, with me, you will have access to an extensive network!'
Tom and Britt live in Midtown with their two Chihuahuas, Bellamy and Malachi. Having lived in Atlanta for many years, Tom is enthusiastic to see the city grow into a major metropolitan force while staying true to its well-known charm.
Tom believes that it’s community and connection that make a city a home. Specializing in Metro Atlanta and beyond, he’s an expert in the Buckhead, Intown and Midtown neighborhoods, as well as areas outside of the Perimeter, including Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

When he is not working, Tom enjoys exercising both his mind and body and the relaxing days in the park with his dogs. He also participates in his car club and enjoys opening up his Sundancer on the lake, keeping up with fashion and design and spending time with friends and family!
